Traveling internationally with your mobile phone: Dos and don’t Airline Booking, Online Air Ticket Reservation

A long time ago, traveling internationally solely for recreation was somewhat limited to the most affluent of the communities. These travelers were almost always assisted by a guide when exploring the hidden experiences in the country.

But today, almost every person can experience international traveling without many limitations. For example, Airline Booking services make online air ticket reservations convenient, and the abundance of airlines has presented travelers with many budget options when choosing their next overseas adventure.

Moreover, more affordable services are easily accessible through mobile phones, which encourage self-exploration and budget traveling.

Do
  • Research Service Providers and Data Plans.

Before you visit a country, research the Service Providers and respective Data Plans. When you land, you can save time and not fall into any tourist traps by straightaway visiting the preferred Service Provider and acquiring a SIM.

By acquiring a native SIM, you will save money, which otherwise would have been spent on Data Roaming. However, keep in mind that you will have to allow the native Service Provider a few hours, at least, to activate the SIM.

  • Back up your phone before you depart.

Backing up your phone will be beneficial in a couple of ways. It would protect your data if you were to do a factory reset alongside the backup. However, when you backup data, such as photos, and delete them off your mobile, it will allow more space to take more photos of the memories you will be making in the country you are visiting.

  • Research and install Rideshare Apps in the country that you are visiting.

Today, almost everybody uses Ridesharing Apps to get around. While a few famous Ridesharing Apps may be available in many countries, most countries also have a native Mobile App. For example, when traveling to Sri Lanka, you may prefer to install PickMe, a Sri Lankan Ridesharing App. As mentioned, you can also install Mobile Applications that will help you acquire services, such as Airline booking services, Hotel Booking, Navigation, and other unique requirements you have.

Don’t

  • Enable Data Roaming.

Do not enable data roaming unless you are comfortable with incurring a somewhat of a huge bill.

  • Use your phone without a passcode.

Almost every person has a passcode on their mobile phone. However, for those who may not have a passcode, when you travel overseas, make sure to set up a strong passcode. Also, never share your passcode with anyone else.

  • Use your phone without a case or a screen guard.

Mobile phones are expensive, so pairing the device with a good case and a screen guard is common. However, accessorizing the mobile phone with a case and a screen guard becomes even more paramount when traveling overseas. If you were to damage the device, you may have to go a couple of days without a phone, which could seriously harm your safety, experience, and convenience.
